Tomato Infused Pasta From Scratch

My foveate past time these days in making homemade pasta! I could take the time to create it on a nicely floured surface, mix everything by hand… I just don’t have the time or the motivation to do something like that!

If you know me, or have been around here long enough you should know that I LOVE a good kitchen gadget! Give me all the gadgets for every job and I am a happy women! This pasta making session is filled with just that!

No need to get those hands dirty and make a huge mess! You mix your dough right in you mixer with the dough hook attachment and let the pasta dough sit in plastic wrap for 1 hr. Then pull out your pasta attachment for your mixer and roll out your beautiful pasta!

Tomato Infused Pasta From Scratch

  • Yield: 5 lbs pasta 1x


Take this basic pasta dough and turn it into a rich and flavorsome dish!


  • 2 1/2 Cups Flour
  • 3 Egg Yolks
  • 3 Tbsp Butter, soft
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 3 Tbsp Tomato Paste
  • 1/4 Cup Water


  1. Flour Flour into your mixer
  2. Start to beat in Eggs and Tomato Paste
  3. Add Butter, Water, and Salt
  4. Mix with dough hook until it forms a ball and pulls away from the sides of your bowl
  5. Pull dough out of bowl and wrap in plastic wrap for at least 1 hr
  6. When time is up, divide the dough into 2 and Feed it through the pasta machine at the 1 setting(widest setting)
  7. Dust with more flour and feed it through the machine again at a number 3
  8. Dust one more time and feed it through at a number 5
  9. Now feed the dough through your pasta maker pattern end
  10. Cut when the dough hits the counter and roll into a nest
  11. If not using pasta right away wrap in plastic wrap or else boil salt water and enjoy your meal!
  12. Best served with Butter and Parmesan sprinkled with Basil


TIP: Try adding in different flavors and colors in replace to the Tomato Paste such as Pured Beats, Prunes, Spinach, quid ink! the possibilities are endless!
